American businessman Donald Trump will take the oath of office on Monday to become the 47th president of the United States, marking his second term as the country’s supreme leader.

The inauguration ceremony for the 78-year-old president-elect is set for noon ET on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, DC, according to Joint Congress Committee on Inauguration Ceremonies.

Trump family members including his wife, Melania Trump, will attend the inauguration, but it was not immediately known if their son, Barron Trump, would attend.

A lot has changed for Barron Trump since his father’s first presidency, including his address, his school and the fact that he is now an adult.

Who is Barron Trump? Here’s what to know about the teenager as his family steps down from the White House.

How old is Barron Trump?

Barron Trump is 18. He was born March 20, 2006.

He is the only child of Donald and Melania Trump and an American citizen.

Barron Trump graduated from Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach, Florida on May 17, 2024 and is a student at New York University.

According to NewJersey.com, part of the USA TODAY Network, it is not clear if he will attend the celebration since he now lives in New York and Inauguration Day is on Monday, the day before spring semester officially starts back to teaching at New York University, where he attends.

Barron’s decision to attend NYU is a step away from the family tradition of attending either the University of Pennsylvania or Georgetown University, both of which have strong ties to the Trump family. Donald Trump and his other children — Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, Eric Trump and Tiffany Trump — have attended or graduated from the prestigious universities of Pennsylvania and Washington, DC, respectively.

But Barron’s brother-in-law Jared Kushner has ties to NYU. Kushner, married to Barron’s half-sister Ivanka, has a bachelor’s degree from Harvard and business and law degrees from New York University, according to the Palm Beach Post.

Who are Barron Trump’s siblings?

Barron Trump has four half-siblings: Donald Trump Jr., 47, Ivanka Trump, 43, Eric Trump, 41, and Tiffany Trump, 31.

Barron spent much of his childhood in Trump Tower in Manhattan, where he lived until his father was sworn in as the 45th president in early 2017, according to the Palm Beach Post, part of the USA TODAY NETWORK. Barron moved into the White House when he was 11 and lived there until 2019, when the family moved permanently to Trump’s private club, Mar-a-Lago, in Palm Beach, Florida.

Behind the scenes of Barron Trump’s father’s latest campaign

Despite making limited appearances during his father’s third presidential campaign, social media reports suggest Barron Trump was active behind the scenes advising Trump on how to connect with younger Gen Z voters.

Trump has also credited Barron with convincing him to perform Joe Rogan’s podcast, TODAY reported.
